News from Mrs. Merriam

We have enjoyed ABUNDANT opportunities for celebrating Family Engagement Month in November! As of last week, students enjoyed their last after school enrichment, we had over 70 pieces of art displayed at a lovely art show and reception at Our Lady of Hope, we met at Barnes & Noble to celebrate reading, our students and some wonderful Veterans celebrated Veterans Day, and we held grade-level spelling bees. We look forward to a kindergarten feast, Turkey Trot, first grade Days of Long Ago, second grade Google slide creations, third grade cartography activities, fourth grade Jamestown projects and Survival Guides, and fifth grade Ocean Pollution projects, as well as the celebration of school-wide Reflections projects and the First Lego League robotics competition within the next week!

Our staff looks forward to time off with our own families over the three-day Thanksgiving break and hopes you enjoy making beautiful memories with your own! I am very thankful for the opportunity to spend my days with such incredible students, staff, and families. Happy Thanksgiving!

Your very grateful Principal,

Lisa Merriam

Come Trot with Us!

Our annual PTA Turkey Trot kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 18 at 8:30 am on the bus loop. Mrs. Sweeney has a great course mapped out for our Foxes and their families in this non-competitive, fun run where participants run or walk as many laps as they like. Please join us for hot beverages and light snacks after the trot.

This is a free event, but if you’d like to donate canned goods for the Henrico Christmas Mother or new hats or gloves for Johnson Elementary, our sister school, we will have collection boxes at the event.

Thanks to our generous sponsors:
