SUBJECT: News from the Farm - March 22, 2019

Notes from Mrs. Metzger

Fox Families,

It is hard to believe that we are one week away from Spring Break! We have many exciting days ahead of us on The Farm. I ask that you mark your calendars for the following events.

Next Friday, March 29th, is a half day of school. Dismissal will begin at 11:05 am. This will also kickoff Spring Break, which is April 1st – 5th. We will welcome our Foxes back on Monday, April 8th. As we move through the last nine weeks, I encourage you to continue to ensure that your child is arriving at school on time each day. If your child arrives at school after 7:35 am, they are considered tardy and you will need to park and walk your child into the building and sign them in with the office. Thank you for your understanding as safety is our top priority.

Kindergarten registration is right around the corner! Do you or your neighbors have children at home that are ready for Kindergarten? If so, we encourage families of rising kindergarteners to come to school on Thursday, April 11th to register for the upcoming school year. Kindergarten registration will take place from 8 am – 4 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm. This year we are asking that families bring their rising kindergartener with them to registration. We look forward to seeing our future Foxes here on the Farm.

Our new and improved Fox Garden is complete and it’s time to celebrate! We will have a garden celebration on Thursday, April 25th from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. An invitation will be sent out to all families when we return from Spring Break. The invitation will include a link to a google form for you to RSVP as your response will help us to plan for this event.

I hope that all of our students and families have a wonderful Spring Break. I hope that you find it to be a time to relax and rejuvenate as we gear up for the last nine weeks of the 18-19 school year!

Paver Garden Dedication and Other Updates

Plans for our new paver garden are well under way. The PTA would love to thank Mrs. Luxton for her vision, hard work, and dedication in bringing this unique addition to the NFES family and school grounds. We are so excited to prepare for our dedication ceremony on Thursday, April 25 from 4:30-5:30 pm. This will be a true family affair, so grab a picnic blanket and join us that evening for a chance to see what an amazing instructional space has been added to the NFES Grounds. None of this would be possible without your contribution, however, so please read on to see how you can help!

PTA Membership Cards

Membership cards are now available for pick up in a file box in the front office at your convenience. Once picked up, follow instructions on the card to activate it if you would like to take advantage of PTA member discounts from various vendors listed on the website. Thank you!

SUPPORT THE FARM EVERY TIME YOU SHOP OR EAT!

Keep on clipping! Box Tops are sometimes small and hard to notice on product packages. Before you toss your empty packaging into the trash or recycling, be sure to do a quick check for a Box Top. They are on products like Go-Gurt, Lysol, Cheerios and other GM cereals, Ziploc, Kleenex, Green Giant, Nature Valley, and Annie’s branded items, to name a few. Don’t miss them! Thank you for your support.
