SUBJECT: News from the Farm - April 1, 2020

Notes from Mrs. Metzger

Nuckols Farm Family,

I hope everyone is continuing to do well during this time of uncertainty. Please know that we miss everyone dearly. I want to remind you that we are here to support you and your family as we continue to navigate these unchartered waters.

Unfortunately, due to Monday’s announcement by Governor Northam, it is with great sadness that we must postpone our Car Parade scheduled for this Friday, April 3rd. We are devastated about this cancellation, but we will be sharing a virtual message with you soon!

As a reminder, next week, April 6-13, is Spring Break. While I know that our current state has likely changed many of your plans, I hope that you will make the most of the current situation with your family as our teachers will be doing the same. Teachers and staff will reconnect with families following Spring Break.

The Distant Learning Packets distributed to students on March 13 were designed to last through this week. The division is currently working to create additional Distant Learning resources that will cover the remainder of the year and will provide students the opportunity for remediation and enrichment of previously learned skills with a continued focus on connections. This information will be shared with families following Spring Break.

We hope that you will continue to post to our Virtual Connections through Flipgrid each week and that you tune in to our daily Mystery Readers. In the meantime, please let us know how we can continue to support your family. Take care!

PTA NEWS

Dear NFE Community,

I hope this newsletter finds you healthy and safe. I know that these last few weeks have brought about so much disappointment and sacrifice. However, it's been rewarding to see our Foxes gather for virtual mystery readings, participating in class Zoom meetings, post pictures of Lego creations, and lift each other up during these uncertain times.

We will continue to provide communication through this newsletter on a monthly basis. Also, be sure to follow us on Facebook through the Nuckols Farm PTA page. You can also find informal idea sharing and family connections through the NFE Moms//NFE Parents Facebook page. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

With kindness and gratitude,

2019/20 PTA President

NFES Teacher Parade Update

Due to the most recent announcement by Governor Northam, our Teacher Car Parade scheduled for this Friday, April 3rd has been postponed. We will reschedule as soon as we are cleared and able to do so. We miss you all and we WILL see you as soon as we can!

NFES Faculty and Staff

Announcements from Ms. Young

Hey Foxes! What are you reading? Feel free to share with me what you've been reading and what books you are enjoying through this Flipgrid! I'd love to see your sweet faces and hear from you! If you have any issues with the link, please email me. Miss you!

Don't forget to check the NFES announcement page from time to time. Any new learning resource links will be found there. Check out the library and PE links that are currently posted!

Schools are discussing plans/ideas for collecting the library books that students currently have checked out and at home. The collection will most likely happen closer to the summer months. In the meantime, enjoy those books, and please keep them all in one location so they are easy to find when it's time to return them! I will keep teachers and families updated as I learn any new information.
