NOTES FROM MS. METZGER

Fox Families,

I cannot believe that we are closing out week two of this school year.  I want to thank you for your continued patience and support as we continue to navigate these challenging times.

It has been great having the opportunity to join in on students’ classes over the past two weeks.  I have enjoyed seeing them collaborate and communicate with their teacher and classmates in the virtual platform.  Our focus over the past two weeks has been on building relationships with students and families.  It is the relationships that we build today that will lead to our success together in the future.  Your continued collaboration and support of our teachers and staff at NFES is greatly appreciated!

I also want to take the opportunity to introduce you to our new staff at Nuckols Farm.  Please join me in welcoming the following new members to our team:

Eleanor Adams – 2nd grade

Amanda Howell – 2nd grade

Erin McGregor – 2nd grade

Genia Knouse – 3rd grade

Garrett Trump – 5th grade

Kevin Napier – PE

Erin Glisson – PE IA

Brittany Sam – Exceptional Education

Molly Jesseman – Exceptional Education

Larri Branch – Board Sub for Music

This year, we are also fortunate to have itinerate staff members who will be supporting LAMP instruction.  Each of these individuals will be at NFES one day a week and may be your child’s teacher this year for LAMP.  Please join me in welcoming these staff members as well:

Melanie Parker- Library

Kathleen O’Connor- Art

Kristin Beasley- Music

Juliane Sponsler- PE

Thank you again for your continued support of our school and PTA.  Here’s to a great year!

Yours in Education,

Crystal Metzger, Principal

To date, we have received donations from 85 families, totaling $5,820.00.  We know there are many back-to-school expenses this time of year, but early Fox Fund donations help us add important and enjoyable equipment, supplies, and activities to our children's educational experience. If you have not yet donated, please consider participating- no amount is too small or too large! Donations may be made online using your Membership Toolkit account.  Donors will receive a magnet to show their Fox pride!

            Room Parent Updates

Please be on the lookout!  Beginning in October, we’ll be reaching out to interested room parents through Membership Toolkit. Due to the nature of the year, this role will begin with only 1 parent per class, acting as a point of contact between the teacher and families.  Looking forward to working together throughout the year!

Many thanks to those who supported the supply drive for our sister school, Johnson Elementary!  JES has 470 students, many of whom come from lower-income families. We delivered over $1600 worth of supplies that they requested for their students including:

179 dry erase boards
399 dry erase markers
159 trifold boards
144 pencil sharpeners
28 headphones
300 pages of cardstock

Way to go Foxes!  And a huge round of applause goes to the event organizers: Jamie Gibberman, Amy Lawson and Amber Manry.

Support for Mrs. Lee's Family

We are still collecting cards for Holden at school and Mrs. Saunders will be delivering them daily to the family.  You can mail them to the school c/o Amber Saunders or drop them off in the library book bin at the front of the school.  Holden loves pictures and funny jokes too. Create some magic to share!
