| | Foxes Families, It is hard to believe that we are halfway through the first nine week of the school year. We are grateful for the continued support of your child, his / her teacher, and our school. Please stay tuned to the school board meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 22. At that meeting, a recommendation will be made to the school board about the 2nd nine weeks of school. Your child’s interim is available as of today in PowerSchool. Please access the parent portal to see your child’s grades for the first five weeks of virtual learning. Parent-Conferences will take place on Thursday, November 12 from 2:30 pm – 6 pm. Please be on the lookout for communication from your child’s teacher and make plans to schedule a time to meet to discuss your child and his/her progress. If you have not completed the beginning of the year forms found in Rycor, please be sure to do so as soon as possible. The forms that need to be completed are listed below. | | Spirit Wear is Here! NFE Spirit Wear can be picked up on Monday, October 19th between 3:00-5:00 pm. We do not have any surplus Spirit Wear at this time. When you come to the school, please come to the BUS LOOP. Please DO NOT park or get out of your car. Spirit Wear will be distributed through a contactless, drive-thru pick-up. Please give your student's last name, teacher's name, and grade level.

| | Fox Fund Family Donations reach $8,000! Thank you to the additional new families that donated to our Fox Fund! As of October 13, NFES received donations from 121 families totaling $8,000. Please help us make $9,000 our next milestone mark for fundraising! In addition, matching gifts totaling $451 have been received. We are at the height of our Reflections adventures, and we are looking forward to having so many incredible students participate this year!
Reflections entry forms, rules, and information have been sent home to everyone who expressed interest in participating. And, it’s not too late to participate!! | | Get Your Pavers Now! Are you looking for a way to cement your family’s time at NFES? Is this your child’s first year At NFES? Their last year? A paver is a timeless way to make that possible, and to make them more than just a memory. While virtual learning is a reality for us now, pavers are a permanent way of having your child visit their legacy at school at any time. While we are not physically at school now, the pavers will be there forever. So, order your paver now and make it a special holiday or end-of-year grade promotion gift. | | Moody Middle School IB Program
Nuckols Farm Elementary School’s feeder middle schools are Pocahontas and Short Pump Middle Schools, however, there is an optional and selective academic program called International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years, which is at Moody Middle School. This academic program includes a comprehensive curriculum for students who are highly motivated and who have demonstrated the ability to achieve academically. In addition to a well-rounded selection of courses, students focus on developing a wide variety of skills to help them think critically, organize carefully, communicate appropriately and reflect purposefully. Again, this is an optional program. Applications are now available for students who want to apply for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program at Moody Middle School. They are available on the Nuckols Farm School Counseling Schoology Page. Please watch this video to learn how to access and complete the application. After watching the video, if you still have questions, please reach out to Mrs. Crockett, our school counselor. BOXTOP UPDATES! -Due to COVID19, we have placed a collection box outside of the front door of NFE. It is a plastic gray box clearly labeled as belonging to Boxtops. -Boxtops can be turned in inside a plastic ziplock bag or we have included a blank collection sheet at the end of this newsletter that you can print and use at home. -If you would like your child entered into a raffle for a prize, you may include your student’s name on their submission.
-All physical Boxtops should be turned in by October 29, 2020.
