This week was Virginia School Principals Appreciation Week and we certainly appreciate ours! Thank you, Mrs. Metzger and Mrs. Childress, for all you do on the Farm!

Notes from Mrs. Metzger

Fox Families –

It is hard to believe that we have come to the end of the 2nd 9 weeks. January has been a month of celebrations and recognitions at The Farm. Sam S. was our school Spelling Bee winner and proudly represented NFES at the county level on January 18th. Braydon H. was named the 2019 MLK Lights of Hope Recipient and was recognized on Monday, January 21st at the 33rd Annual MLK Commemoration Ceremony. Congratulations also go out to our Elks Free Throw participants and our winner who will represent NFES at the next level, Tyler V.

Several staff members were recognized this month as well. Jessica Deal, 5th grade, has been named NFES Teacher of the Year, and Jen Vieni, 5th grade, has been named New Teacher of the Year. We also recognized Jeanne McKeon, Occupational Therapist, as our Christie Award Recipient. The Christie Award recognizes an exceptional education team member who has been exemplary in service to our children and families. We are so proud and thankful for each of these Nuckols Farm Foxes! Please join me in congratulating these students and staff members.

Author to Visit NFES!

We are looking forward to an author visit from Michelle Nelson-Schmidt on March 18! She will visit with all grade levels and her message will include the concepts of following your dreams, trying new things, friendship, self-confidence, bullying, literacy, and art.

A pre-order form will come home on February 4 or 5 and students will have until February 12 to turn them in to Ms. Young in the library.

SUPPORT THE FARM EVERY TIME YOU SHOP OR EAT!

We have earned over $600 so far this year just for clipping Box Tops! Remember, the classes who have collected the most Box Tops by June will earn a reward. Check out the graph on the back of the collection sheet to see how your class is doing and don't forget to turn in your December/January collection sheet by January 31. Keep up the good work!

An Important Change!
