PTA NEWS

I hope you all had a chance to come enjoy the amazing science fair projects our young scientists had on display. I was blown away by their creativity! Seems February has been a great month for our Foxes! Looking forward to seeing you at Boomerang for our spirit event next week. Stay healthy!

In kindness,

Deb Harper

What a successful Science Fair!

Thank you to all of our Scientists that participated in this year's Science Fair! What a wonderful showing of skills, interest, creativity, planning, execution and more! Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped check-in projects, to parents and teachers for supporting our Foxes and to the Science Fair co-chairs, Laura Powell and Alison Bernier, for their time spent making this year's Fair a success!

If you did not take your science project with you last night, please stop by the school to pick up your project by Tuesday, February 26 at 2:30 pm. Thank you!

We had a great Valentine's Day lunch last Thursday! The faculty and staff loved the pizza party and they were grateful for the generous NFES parents who donated school supplies. Many teachers were low on items and were excited to be able to restock! Thank you to our PTA Hospitality Chairs who organized the yummy lunch and to those who sent in items!

Our next spirit event will be held this Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Boomerang Air Sports. Check out the flyer for more information. Hope to see you there!

Can you solve the Rubik's Cube?

If your child is interested in solving the Rubik’s Cube, or in improving his or her speed in solving the cube, or in besting everyone else at solving the cube, please read on…

We are preparing for the Regional Rubik’s Cube Competition! NFES will have a team of 8 students and 2 alternates to take to the Competition. If your child is interested in being a part of our team, we will have practices on Tuesday, February 26; Thursday, February 28; and Tuesday, March 5 from 2:15-3:00 pm in Mr. Wasserman’s classroom (A-3).

Students may come to 1 or all 3 of these practices in order to be timed, to practice, and to have fun! Bring an official Rubik’s cube with the Rubik’s logo. No speed cubes allowed.

The 10 fastest students, as timed by March 5, will be on the the NFES Team! Those selected will be invited to the Team Practices from 2:15-3:00 pm on the following Fridays: March 15 and March 22.

The students on the NFES Team must be able to attend the Regional Competition on Thursday, March 28 from 4:00-6:30 pm at Holman Middle School.  Contact Mr. Wasserman with any questions.
