ASE is an opportunity for foxes to explore, learn, and develop new skills through a variety of engaging programs at school, after school.  We are excited to share this extensive ASE course catalogue.  This Spring we are offering classes on Tuesdays & Thursdays with over a dozen opportunities for your student to participate.

 

Parents, or other HCPS approved volunteers, will be required to volunteer for a minimum of one session per student, per class registered. 

You will not be able to complete your registration until you select a date to volunteer.  Check your calendars now!

 

Class dates are listed below.  Each class will begin at 2:15pm (directly after school) and dismiss at 3:15pm except where noted.

Pick up & volunteer instructions will be emailed to you prior to the first day of class.Signups begin on Saturday, February 17th at 11 am and end on Thursday, February 29th at 11pm.  Please ensure during signup that you are signing up for one class per day only.

 

**Please note the last day to sign up for After School Enrichment is Thursday, February 29th. No changes (including refunds) will be made after this time so that our vendors may be paid and our team has time to organize everything behind the scenes to prepare for the first class on March 12th.**

 

Registration is scheduled to open at 11AM on February 17th.

  YOGA JOY is a play-based children’s yoga program filled with games, songs, stories, creative play, animal yoga poses, mindful crafts and meditation activities specifically with kids in mind. We focus on providing tools to help self-regulation and connectivity with yoga in a fun way!  Yoga is also a great activity for athletes to increase strength and endurance!  Mats are provided for students

Our program teaches the art of self-defense commonly known as Taekwondo. This Martial Art is immensely different from other martial arts in that it emphasizes the importance of respect. Before your child will learn kicking or punching techniques, he/she will learn valuable life and social skills. Dynamic Taekwondo's philosophy is to teach both self-defense in body and mind. Our anti-bully speech and exercises will help your child make good choices in their daily lives. We will be awarding complimentary Taekwondo uniform, belt and testing to the children that demonstrates improvement in showing respect and displaying confidence.

Have you ever wanted to be a magician?  Here's your chance!  Jonathan Austin, a well known magician, juggler, and entertainer will be coming to Nuckols Farm to teach you the best magic tricks to impress your family and friends. You will learn amazing card, coin, dollar, rubber-band, and pencil tricks to impress your friends and family! The final class will be a performance for your friends and family to attend in which you will perform the magic tricks you have learned. Get ready for great fun! Min 15, Max 30.

Acting Class:

Max 30 :Grades 3-5

These classes are focused on the fundamentals of acting on stage. The class will be centered around the performance of a short humorous skit with parts for all the students in the class. Students will learn about stage direction, vocal projection and enunciation, understanding characters and identifying their goals in a scene, and how to work together to put on a successful performance. There will be roles for everyone- both larger and smaller parts. Students will be divided into groups of no greater than ten students. 

  

Dance Mashup:

Max 20: Grades K-2

Dance mashup is an introduction to ballet, jazz, and hip-hop dance geared towards younger students. Students will learn the basic steps and history of each style. No previous dance experience is required, and students will participate in a mini showcase at the end of Spring Enrichment. 

 

Theatrical Design:

Max 16: Grades 3-5

Do you love to imagine, create, and build? This class allows you to bring your ideas to life. You will work on designing and creating a set or scene. You will choose colors and materials, imagine and design costumes, brainstorm lighting choices. Share your designs with friends and families at our presentation day at the conclusion of class. 

 

Show Choir: 

Max 20: Grades 2-5

Show Choir is a musical ensemble that combines choral singing with choreographed movements. It also includes a theme that is a story developed through the songs. The Show Choir class will be centered around a spy theme. Students will be sent on a secret mission to rescue and save a beloved dog!  *This class dismisses at 3:30

Calling all LEGO lovers and future engineers! Bricks4Kidz presents fun-filled model plans, designed by engineers and architects, to teach children to learn with LEGO® Bricks. Using axles, gears, motors, and bricks, our project kits motivate children by reinforcing STEM-based principles while enhancing self-esteem, improving fine motor skills, and teaching important classroom lessons such as organization and following directions. Ready to get your hands dirty? Join the Fox Garden Club as we head outside and learn about nature! We'll spend time getting to know the Fox Garden and practicing how to take good care of our vegetables and flowers. Together we'll weed, dig, plant, and compost. We'll also make gardening-related crafts as we discover the joys of watching things grow and what it means to be good stewards of our local ecosystem. We can't wait for you to join us in the Fox Garden! **Many sessions will include outside instruction; please dress appropriately for the weather. The class will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather.
