After School Enrichment (ASE) is a PTA sponsored opportunity for students to explore, learn, and develop new skills through a variety of engaging programs at school, after school. Classes will be offered on Tuesdays for six weeks beginning April 7 through May 12. We hope your students will find something they’re excited about!
***New for Spring 2026: Parents, or other HCPS approved volunteers, will be required to volunteer for a minimum of one session PER FAMILY registration. This is a change from one volunteer session per student in previous years. Working together we can decrease parent volunteer hours while still supporting ASE. This change means you may not be able to volunteer in your student’s classroom. During registration you will be able to choose the date and class for your volunteer slot. You will not be able to complete your registration until you select a date to volunteer. Check your calendars now.
Pick up & volunteer instructions will be emailed to you prior to the first day of class.
Each class will begin at 2:15pm (directly after school) and dismiss at 3:15 pm.
Spring 2026 After School Enrichment
will be on
Tuesdays beginning April 7 - May 12
Registration opens on Sunday, March 1 at 6:00pm and closes on Sunday, March 8 at 11:00pm. Classes may fill quickly. We recommend having a second choice ready if your first choice is full.
**Please note the last day to sign up for After School Enrichment on March 8 is a firm deadline. No changes (including refunds) will be made after this time so that our team has time to organize everything behind the scenes to prepare for the first class on April 7.
(Link will be available Sunday, March 1 at 6:00pm)

ASE Frequently Asked Questions
My student attends the HEF (Henrico Education Foundation) after school program at NFE. Can they still participate in the PTA After School Enrichment (ASE)?
YES! Register your student for the PTA After School Enrichment Program of their choice. We will have a volunteer available at 3:15pm to escort students from their PTA ASE class to meet their HEF coordinator.
My student wants to do two classes, can I sign them up for two classes?
All of the classes will be held at the same time on Tuesday afternoons from 2:15-3:15pm on April 7- May 12. Students should only enroll in one class for the Spring session.
My student’s favorite class is not listed for my student’s grade level. Can I still enroll them in the class they want?
ASE classes are designed for the grades listed based on student skill and ability. To enroll in a class a student must be in the grades listed for that class.
Should I enroll my new Kindergarten student in an ASE class this Fall?
This depends on your Kindergarten student. As parents you know your child best. If your young student is tired from their first days in school, then it may be best to wait and enroll your Kindergartener in the Spring ASE session when they are more accustomed to the school routine and have more energy to fully enjoy their ASE class.
Why are some classes more expensive than others?
Each class is priced depending on the cost of materials and instructor time for the class. Some classes require more expensive materials, but all of the classes will be equally fun and engaging for your student.
We’ve had a change in schedule and my student can no longer participate in their ASE Class. Can I get a refund?
After Sunday, March 8, 2026 no refunds will be given for ASE course registrations as described on the ASE flyer, ASE website and ASE registration.
My student attended the first week and would like to change classes. Can we switch to another class?
Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate class changes during the session. After Sunday, March 8, 2026 we are not able to make changes or give refunds for ASE classes.
Is ASE the same as HEF?
ASE stands for After School Enrichment and it is a PTA sponsored six week session of classes that meet once a week and teach a fun, new skill. HEF stands for Henrico Education Foundation, which runs a daily after school program at Nuckols Farm. ASE and HEF are two separate groups. Students who attend HEF can register for ASE classes.
Why aren’t there more class offerings?
ASE is volunteer led and we currently have a very small team. If you would like to share course ideas that appeal to your student, or if you would like to join the ASE team, please email Kristi Beabout (ktbeabout@gmail.com).
